We have known for a long time that we are closely related to chimpanzees and other primates, but did you know that chickens, fruit flies, and bananas even share more than half of our genetic material with humans .The field of comparative genomics has shown that we share similar DNA with many other living organisms since the human genome was first sequenced in 2003. ''The reason behind why I chose this Research is because all living organisms, including bananas and humans, pass on knowledge using the same basic content, DNA, from one generation to the next. Most cells contain a full collection of DNA instructions within any living organism. The data in DNA tells our bodies how to create, grow, and function.
